Meet the Mates (finally)

I have taken sometime to establish who really belongs on this page and now would like for you to meet my mates!

Here is the lovely Courtney :

From Geraldton, Australia. She is here studying global studies and full of good times. She is the girl that’s always down for a walk or concert anytime or anyplace.

Then there is Courtney side companion : Tessa laying in the sun reading away. She is

from Melbourne, Australia and in fact taking the weekend of to visit home. Between her and Courtney there is always a creative idea in the making!

Laying next to her is the handsome Tyy who was born in South Africa, lived in England and has found his way to Perth. Between him and I, we make sure we get our daily recommendation of hugs in. Tyy is the definition of a true gentleman: always offering to carry your bags, holding the door open, and a complete sweetie.

Another American, from Ohio here for English studies; Meet Elizabeth. She is a true backpacker, her nose can be found buried in a book, she is always down for an adventure, very independent, and has aspirations of the joining the Peace Corp.

Oh! Here are Dellshard and Flea being themselves (smile).
Both are decorated life long Scouts and very helpful.
In addition to being a scout, Flea is a hyper petite Aussie gal that allows me to pick her boyfriend's head for hiking locations in the area.
Dellshard, fits the Aussie profiling by carrying around a Swiss army knife (until he found out it was illegal in Perth) and enjoying a 12 dollar steak and potato meal every Wednesday night.

Then there is Kate: from outside Detroit with our official meeting Feb 6th on our journey to Australia. We are in the same program studying Child Development, Elementary Education under Michigan State’s advisement. She is obsessed with Glee, Lost, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. I can’t imagine not having her here to bounce ideas off of.

Then there is Stevie: the first roommate I met here. At the age of 20 and from Geraldton, Australia she has just begun her post-grad studies in Education. Creative (she just graffitied her own shoes, and beautifully so) and with a very fun wardrobe!

And without pictures to match there are:

  • The Sweds (a group of three boys from Sweden who seemed to always be attached. Lets just say they should start their own comedy series)
  • Terry (the crazy guy from Tasmania studying at WAAPA, that put on my first Barbie with sangas, Tim Tams, and Tiger toast. I would say he is the number one guy to waste away an entire afternoon with simply by sitting on the lawn talking)
  • Caroline (the curly haired blonde from France, very chill girl)
  • Naomi (from 5 hours south of here and my soon to be tennis partner, she has the looks of a pure breed Italian and the love for leopard print)
  • Stephen (from Australia, studying at WAAPA, another roommate of mine who is slowly but surely turning his room into a tree)
  • and last but not least Tee (a Lebanon man, who works as an RA at the student village and gets us all out and about!)

I know this was the spark-notes version of my new acquaintances but feel free to ask any and all questions about any of them. Anything I don't know, I can just ask them for you!

Cheers Mates, Becca
